A boudoir session is an empowering and intimate experience that allows you to celebrate yourself, your beauty, and your confidence. To ensure you feel your best and get the most out of your session, preparation is key. Here are some essential tips to help you get ready for your boudoir photoshoot.
1. Choose Outfits That Make You Feel Amazing
Select lingerie or outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Whether it's a lace bodysuit, a silky robe, or your favorite oversized sweater, pick pieces that reflect your personality and style. Avoid tight-fitting clothing right before your session to prevent any marks on your skin.
2. Pamper Your Skin
Hydrated, glowing skin photographs beautifully and makes for a smooth makeup application. In the days leading up to your session, drink plenty of water and moisturize your skin. If you choose to shave your legs/under arms and anywhere else you’d like to the night before to avoid razor burn. If you are waxing, please do so at least 48 hours in advance to minimize pink skin! A wax is not required! Do what you normally do!

3. Get Plenty of Rest
A good night's sleep before your session will help you look refreshed and feel energized. Try to avoid alcohol the night before, as it can lead to puffiness, redness or dehydration.
4. Hair and Makeup in Mind
Shower the night before or morning of your boudoir session. Moisturize your face and come with clean, dry hair. We have endless amounts of false lashes, glitter, and a wide variety of foundations to ensure you get matched perfectly! If you are doing your own, opt for makeup that enhances your natural features, and style your hair in a way that makes you feel confident.
5. Practice Posing
While your I will guide you through flattering poses, it can be helpful to practice in front of a mirror. Find angles and expressions that make you feel beautiful and comfortable. Stretch the day before your session! Nothing too crazy, you don't want to be too sore at your session! Boudoir posing is a lot of back arching. Your back will likely be sore the next day because you aren’t used to these poses or holding them for as long as you will!
6. Bring Accessories & Personal Touches
Small details like high heels, statement jewelry, or even a meaningful piece of clothing can add a personal touch to your images. Consider bringing a few props that showcase your personality.
Relax and Have Fun!
Most importantly, enjoy the experience! Trust your photographer, embrace your confidence, and let your personality shine through. A boudoir session is about celebrating you—exactly as you are.
By following these tips, you’ll be fully prepared for a boudoir session that captures your beauty, confidence, and uniqueness. Ready to book your session? Let’s make some magic together!
